RideNaija ("we", "our", "us") operates the RideNaija mobile application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect your phone number, name, and email address. For drivers, we additionally collect license information, vehicle details, NIN, and bank account details.

Location Data: We collect real-time location data when you use the app to provide ride services, match you with drivers, and calculate fares. Location data is collected only while the app is in use (riders) or while online (drivers).

Transaction Data: We collect payment information, ride history, fare details, and wallet transactions.

Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve our ride-hailing services
• To match riders with nearby drivers
• To calculate and process fares and payments
• To send you ride updates, receipts, and notifications
• To verify driver identity and vehicle information
• To ensure safety and prevent fraud

3. Data Sharing

We share your information only in these circumstances:

• With drivers/riders: Your first name and phone number are shared with your matched driver/rider during an active trip
• Payment processors: We share transaction data with Paystack for payment processing
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property
• With your consent: We share information when you explicitly authorize it (e.g., trip sharing)

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure database storage, JWT-based authentication, and bcrypt password hashing. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Ride history is retained for 3 years for legal and dispute resolution purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

You have the right to:
