RideNaija Terms of Service

Welcome to RideNaija. By downloading, installing, or using the RideNaija application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Service Description
RideNaija is a technology platform that connects riders with independent driver-partners for transportation services in Nigeria. We also offer food delivery (RideNaija Eats), package delivery (RideNaija Send), and related services. RideNaija does not provide transportation services directly — drivers are independent contractors, not employees.
2. Account Registration
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- One account per person; multiple accounts may be suspended
- We verify your phone number via OTP for security
3. Rider Terms
- You agree to pay the fare displayed at the time of booking, including any applicable surge pricing
- Payment can be made via cash, card, or RideNaija Wallet
- Cancellation fees may apply if you cancel after a driver has been assigned
- You are responsible for your personal belongings during the ride
- You agree not to engage in illegal, unsafe, or disruptive behavior during rides
- Maximum package value for RideNaija Send is ₦50,000
4. Driver Terms
- Drivers must hold a valid Nigerian driver's license
- Drivers must maintain valid vehicle insurance and registration
- Drivers must complete the verification process including NIN and vehicle inspection
- RideNaija charges a 15% platform fee on completed rides
- Drivers are independent contractors and are responsible for their own taxes and expenses
- Drivers must maintain a minimum rating of 4.0 to remain active
- Earnings are available for withdrawal to linked bank accounts
5. Fare & Payments
- Fares are calculated based on distance, time, vehicle type, and demand
- Surge pricing may apply during peak hours or high demand periods
- Estimated fares are provided before booking; actual fares may vary based on route taken
- Wallet funds are non-refundable except in cases of service failure
- All prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦)
6. Safety
Safety is our priority. We provide:
- Driver background verification
- Real-time trip tracking and sharing
- In-app emergency SOS button
- 24/7 support for safety issues
Users who engage in violence, harassment, discrimination, or illegal activity will be permanently banned.
7. Intellectual Property
The RideNaija name, logo, app design, and all related content are the intellectual property of RideNaija and may not be used without written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
RideNaija is a technology platform and is not liable for:
- Actions or negligence of drivers or riders
- Loss or damage to personal property during rides
- Service interruptions due to technical issues or force majeure
- Disputes between riders and drivers
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific ride in question.
9. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, receive consistently poor ratings, or for any reason at our discretion with notice.
10. Dispute Resolution
Disputes shall be resolved through mediation first, then arbitration under Nigerian law. The venue for any legal proceedings shall be Lagos, Nigeria.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
